युवा होना एक वय है, पर किसी खास उम्र में होना भर नहीं है। यह जीवन का वह मोड़ है, जब बचपन पीछे छूट गया होता है और जिंदगी मुकम्मल-सी नजर आती है।

भर नहीं है। यह जीवन का वह मोड़ है, जब बचपन पीछे छूट गया होता है और जिंदगी मुकम्मल-सी नजर आती है। भारत युवाओं का देश है और हमेशा ही यह युवाओं का देश ही रहेगा, कम से कम सन 2030 तक तो यह कयास लगाए ही जा रहे हैं। यह कोई भविष्यवाणी नहीं है, बल्कि जनसंख्या विज्ञानियों का शुद्ध व स्पष्ट गणितीय अनुमान है। जनसंख्याओं के अध्ययन के दौरान एक अवधारणा हमारे सामने आती है, जिसे हम वय मध्य कहते हैं। वय मध्य या मीडियन एज से आशय उस वय से होता है, जिसके नीचे की आधी आबादी युवा और ऊपर की आधी आबादी वृद्ध समझी जाती है। सरल शब्दों में इसे एक खास आबादी के सभी लोगों की औसत आयु कहा जा सकता है। 

संयुक्त राष्ट्र (यू.एन.) के आर्थिक और सामाजिक मामलों के विभाग के अंतर्गत आने वाला जनसंख्या संभाग समय-समय पर विश्व भर की भविष्य युवाओं का है। जनसांख्यिकीय गणनाएं बताती हैं कि २क्३क् तक भारत विश्व की आबादी का एक चौथाई होगा। साथ ही देश में युवाओं की संख्या, बाकी दुनिया के मुकाबले काफी अधिक होगी। जाहिर है कि युवा भारत — सशक्त भारत समाज, कला, संस्कृति, विज्ञान और उद्योगों में दखल के जरिए दुनिया में सकारात्मक बदलावों का नेतृत्व करेगा। 

जनसंख्या पर अध्ययन करता रहता है। इन अध्ययनों से साफ पता चलता है कि हमारे देश में लोगों का वय मध्य सन 2010 तक की गणनाओं के मुताबिक 25.5 वर्ष था, जो संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका की खुफिया एजेंसी सी.आई.ए. के अनुसार 2013 तक 26.7 वर्ष हो गया है। इस आंकड़े को अलग करके देखने पर इसमें पुरुषों का वय मध्य 26.1 वर्ष और स्त्रियों का वय मध्य 27.4 वर्ष पता चलता है।

अब हम भारत में निवास करने वाले 1 अरब 21 करोड़ से अधिक लोगों व विश्व की 17.06 फीसदी आबादी की तुलना, दूसरे देशों से करते हैं। आज की तारीख में चीन दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी आबादी वाला देश है। दूसरे स्थान पर भारत आता है और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, जनसंख्या के मामले में तीसरा सबसे बड़ा देश है। 31 दिसम्बर, 2012 तक संपन्न हुई जनगणना में पता चला कि चीन की 

आबादी 1 अरब 35 करोड़ 40 लाख से अधिक है, जो विश्व की कुल आबादी का 19.08 फीसदी हिस्सा है। चीन का वय मध्य 36.3 वर्ष है। 

वहीं संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, जिसकी आबादी 5 जुलाई, 2013 तक 31 करोड़ 61 लाख से ज्यादा लोगों के साथ विश्व जनसंख्या का 4.46 फीसदी हिस्सा थी, की स्थिति भी कमोबेश चीन की तरह ही है। वहां कुल वय मध्य 37.2 वर्ष है। 

मानव-जाति की आबादी लगभग 7 अरब 9 करोड़ 61 लाख से अधिक लोगों की है और संपूर्ण मनुष्यता का वय मध्य आज की तारीख में 29.4 वर्ष है। आंकड़ों से साफ दिखता है कि दुनिया का वय मध्य भारत से अधिक है, यानी दुनिया भर की तुलना में भारत में अधिक युवा हैं। साथ ही यह बात पुरजोर तरीके से समझ में आती है कि हिंदुस्तान विश्व की ऐसी आबादी वाला देश है, जिसका मानव-जाति में प्रतिनिधित्व लगातार बढ़ता जा रहा है और जो लोग यह नुमाइंदगी कर रहे हैं, वह युवा हैं। 

इसका नतीजा यह है कि दुनिया भर में उत्पादन के दुनिया भर में गजब के बदलाव लाएंगे। पश्चिमी दुनिया के पास संसाधन तो होंगे, पर दक्ष लोगों के लिए उन्हें अब तक ‘कमतर’ और ‘कमजोर’ समझे जाने वाले देशों पर आश्रित होना होगा। भारत की महत्ता इस लिहाज से भी विश्व-राजनीति में बदल जाएगी। सन 2030 तक भारत एक घनी आबादी वाला देश होगा। इसके कई घाटे हो सकते हैं, लेकिन प्रकाश की एक लौ भी दूर से दिखती है। प्रौढ़ हो चुके अन्य देशों के बीच हम नई ऊर्जा और हिम्मत के साथ तब 

भी एक नई दुनिया बना रहे होंगे। ऐसी दुनिया, जिसमें सदियों से संजोया अनुभव तो होगा, पर दकियानूसी खयालों का एक कतरा भी शेष नहीं बचेगा। 

जब युवा विज्ञान, राजनीति, कला, साहित्य, उद्योग, व्यापार और जीवन के तमाम क्षेत्रों में ताकतवर होंगे तो यह मानवता के लिए नए भोर की तरह होगा। संवेदनाएं जहां नई होंगी, सपने नए होंगे और चूंकि समतामूलक प्रेम ही यौवन का धर्म है तो ऐसे रिश्ते समाज के 

ताने-बाने को हर तरफ मजबूत करेंगे। नए जमाने का आगाज होगा, ताकत का पुरकशिश एहसास होगा और उमंगों की धड़कती कहानी होगी। इन संभावनाओं के बाद यह कहने में अब क्या परहेज हो कि भविष्य हमारा — हिंदुस्तान के लाखों-करोड़ों युवाओं का है।

The news of Hindus threatening to convert to Islam

Chennai. The news of Hindus threatening to convert to Islam in tiny village of Pazhangallikkadu in Nagappattinam District of Tamilnadu was disturbing, but the dust has been settled down peacefully and mischievous anti-Hindu forces were shown exit door.

A visit of Sri Sendalankara Sampathkumara Ramanuja Jeeyar into Pazhangallikkadu village and his interaction with villagers all day long have changed the things. Distribution of notebooks to school kids and performing an Homam at Mahalakshmi with all villagers settled the rising dust.

For this Homam, Jeeyar graciously called one Senthil who was spearheading the revolt and goading the people to convert, and honoured him to be the head of the ritual and made him take the oath to be responsible for the smooth conduct. After the successful conduct of the Homam, the Jeeyar distributed the ‘prasad’ to all villagers as the benign grace of the Goddess.

Recently, Tavheed Jamaat volunteers, in Pazhangallikkadu artificially generated caste conflicts with purpose of creating religious unrest and inducing the hapless villagers to convert to Islam on the reason of social injustice in Hindu society.

Going into the details of the trouble, the village Pazhangallikkadu comprises people of many communities prominent among them being the Pillai. The festival in the Tamil month of Adi (July-August)  is very famous there as it is elsewhere in the State. The people of the Pillai community have, for years, been conducting one of the three mandakappadis, a part of the festival at Pazhangallikkadu in their age old  traditional customary way, the other two are the prerogative of the HR & CE Board. The other communities like Mukkulathor, Vanniyar, Adi Dravidar and etc participate wholeheartedly in the other regular temple rituals like pal kudam etc.

There has never been any objection whatsoever of all involving in the temple rituals or worship. If and when the government decides to offer its right to perform the mandakappadi to the Adidravidar community, whatever simmering remonstration that would arise occasionally, would be quelled by amicable means and temple festivities continued to everyone’s content.

But this year witnessed an unsavoury development. Aided and abetted by VCK (a political party said to be fighting for social justice), the Tamil Nadu Tavheed Jamaat (an Islamist outfit known for its anti idol worship propaganda) created a rift among the communities citing non-existent religious intolerance and have managed to hoodwink the villagers to go to the extent of converting to Islam.

The activists of Hindu organisations have, for the last one month, been meeting people on both sides and striving their every nerve in order to unearth the root cause of all these troubles and finally it ended in exposing the anti-Hindu forces to villagers.
